Results Cross-Border Legal Programmes

Serbia-Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina:

Cross Border Legal Programme

2000-2003

Multiplier Effect

Number of direct beneficiaries

14.272

The number of indirect beneficiaries is much higher, as people came to arrange legal and administrative matters from which the entire family benefits. Thus, through the multiplier effect the number of beneficiaries can be at least 4 times higher. The media activities and the beneficiaries informing their social circle of the possibilities available also play a role in influencing this multiplier effect. A success in one test case, serves to resolve the issue in all similar cases, and through advocacy activities, the entire refugee community benefits.

Target Communities

Main reintegration of communities in the Croatian Danube Basin, with Croat returnees, Serb IDPs, & domiciles, Roma & Hungarians

Vojvodina - refugee dense communities

Conflict-affected communities in region Tetovo, Kumanovo and Skoplje: Maced.
and Albanian

The multiplier effect is high; not only the family is benefiting from the psychosocial and legal assistance, but the entire surroundings of the beneficiary, which is very important in the collective centres.

Through the network built in the communities, the entire conflict affected community is reached.
